The only thing I had to do to get the full 1600x1200 resolution working was _manually_ set the vertrefresh to 60 hz. The automatic config sets the VertRefresh to 56.0 - 75.0 range and that refuses to allow anything over 1280X1024 unless it is restricted to the 60.0 value.
