Hello everyone, I just received my new Toshiba Satellite M30X-S171ST yesterday and have installed FC4 on it. It detects all of my hardware ok, but it boots into 800x600 rather than 1024x768. I thought that I might need to add that resolution to my xorg.conf file, and I did, but it did not make a difference. Then I thought to check Intel's site for my chip. From my /var/log/Xorg.0.log I have a: (II) I810: Driver for Intel Integrated Graphics Chipsets: i810, i810-dc100, i810e, i815, i830M, 845G, 852GM/855GM, 865G, 915G, 915GM (II) Primary Device is: PCI 00:02:0 (--) Assigning device section with no busID to primary device (--) Chipset 852GM/855GM found I found this RPM that I think works with my graphic chipset http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/detail_desc.aspx?strstate=live&productid=39&dwnldid=8211&agr=n&lang=eng&prdmap=39 I downloaded it and installed it but received the following errors: [root@localhost ~]# rpm -i dri-I915-v1.1-20041217.i386.rpm ERROR: AGPGART module did not compile - AGP module turned off in kernel ?? ERROR: Kernel modules did not compile The DRI drivers can not be installed without the latest kernel modules. Installation will be aborted. See the dri.log file for information on what went wrong. I can't seem to find a dri.log file to post. The *weird* part is that after installing this RPM and rebooting, all of a sudden when X comes up it's in 1024x768 and works just fine. But, when I reboot, it's back to 800x600 just like I never installed it. I'm not sure what else I need to include. All I'm trying to do is have my display set at 1024x768. Any help is greatly appreciated! -- Kevin Old kevinold@xxxxxxxxx
