Hi,

I have the ntfs kernel installed and the following line in my /etc/
fstab.
/dev/hda1 /media/windows ntfs rw,defaults,umask=0222 0 0

Why did you apply this umask?

The windoze partition mounts okay and I can change directories, etc.

cd /media/windows/Documents and Settings/globe/Desktop

However, I am unable to copy files to it on linux (FC4). What do I
have to do to be able to do this?

I think it's because you have to change umask to sth like 022

Thanks! But no, did not work, sorry!
%cp small.pdf /media/windows/Documents\ and\ Settings/globe/Desktop/
cp: cannot create regular file `/media/windows/Documents and
Settings/globe/Desktop/small.pdf': Read-only file system

Any other help, please?
Many thanks!

In 2.4 kernel we can mount an ntfs partition system just for reading, we can not write. Perhaps it's the same thing with FC4 (2.6 kernel). I'm not sure but it may be.!!!
