Dear All:

My computer is Dell OptiPlex GX280

From the specification on

http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/optix_gx280?c=
us&cs=28&l=en&s=dfb

the hard drive is

Serial ATA 40, 80, 160 and 250GB 7200 RPM hard drives with S.M.A.R.T. II

To install Linux, I want to add a hard drive.

The Dell website recommended product is

     MAXTOR
100 GB 7200 RPM OneTouch II USB External Hard Drive
     $127.46

It is surprising that an external hard drive is recommended. But what
is more confusing is this website,

If my memory serves me, that's a SFF machine (small form factor), which, if true, may not have an available slot for another internal hard drive. Can't help you with SATA, but there have been many posts on this forum in the past period from people dealing with this issue. You can go here to get a decent search of fedora-list:

I have a GX260 with the same case and it has only one drive bay inside. I know as I need more space and I have to put the extra drive on the USB buss. Waiting for new drive and USB drive case.

I have SATA drives at home on my ASUS motherboard. They didn't work with a fresh FC1 install but once I updated the kernel module, no problems. About to add more drives as I need space as we all do.
