I am looking for a tutorial about the Linux Command line, that works

I said to use Control-Alt-F1. Hold down the Control and Alt keys, and
then hit F1, F2, F3, and so on.
And if you're looking for a command-line Linux guide and not a general
FC3 guide, do a Google search for "Bash shell tutorial" or something
similar. The Bash shell is the default command shell used with FC3.
Here's one I found: http://linux.org.mt/article/terminal

Control Alt F1 instantly shut my computer down.
That would be surprising.
I am afraid to perform
Control Alt F2, etc. Why don't you try them and tell me what happens.
They will take you to virtual consoles 2-6. Behavior similar to this
has been the case since about Red Hat 3.0 IIRC (at least for the last
several years, and no I don't mean RHEL 3 :-). Are you sure that what
you refer to as "instantly shut my computer down" is not just the black
text screen with a virtual console login prompt? Did you try Ctrl-Alt-
F7 or Alt-F7 to get back to X?
Phil
Yeah, I had to turn my computer on again.
I will try it again tonight when I am done using the computer.
