Can anyone explain "skipping," if and how I can control it?
This computer seems to be working all right but I have a new
installation that
seems to be "skipping" all the .ttf fonts added to .fonts? Once again
I've botched
something but can't see what I've done wrong?
fc-cache -v
fc-cache: "/usr/share/fonts": skipping, 0 fonts, 3 dirs
fc-cache: "/usr/share/fonts/default": skipping, 0 fonts, 2 dirs
fc-cache: "/usr/share/fonts/default/Type1": skipping, 35 fonts, 0 dirs
fc-cache: "/usr/share/fonts/default/ghostscript": skipping, 8 fonts, 0
dirs
fc-cache: "/usr/share/fonts/bitmap-fonts": skipping, 32 fonts, 0 dirs
fc-cache: "/usr/share/fonts/bitstream-vera": skipping, 10 fonts, 0 dirs
fc-cache: "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1": skipping, 29 fonts, 0 dirs
fc-cache: "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/OTF": skipping, 0 fonts, 0 dirs
fc-cache: "/root/.fonts": skipping, 27 fonts, 0 dirs
fc-cache: succeeded
Thanks.
Bob
I found the solution to my problem at
http://www.ces.clemson.edu/linux/fc2T42-2.shtml.
I simply made a link to the ttf font directory as described ...
