The above let me expect masquerading is working. You hopefully do not
test as user root, don't you? To test masquerading run:

/usr/lib/sendmail -bt   (will go into interactive mode)
/tryflags ES
/try esmtp user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
