Ok. I see that the version of KDE in the official distro is 3.4.0-5. So, I deleted KDE and K3b (rpm -e) then reinstalled both RPMs from the DVD:
rpm -ivh kdebase-3.4.0-5.i386.rpm k3b-0.11.23-3.i386.rpm
Still the same error message!
FWIW:
rpm -q qt
qt-3.3.4-14
