What does "access my router" mean?

I could login to the admin page and view information, change settings, etc.

I tried to ping the IP using this kernel without a reply with this working kernel. The IP that I tried was for an XP box with a pretty restrictive firewall. It could be a name resolution problem.

The errors related to the ethernet adapter were below. I tried running dhclient and brought the lnk up and down several times, still no luck.

Try tcpdump and see what's happening on the interface when you ping in another window.

(No need to cc me replies, I read the list.)
