Hello,
I have a HP PSC 1315 and the computer OS is FC4 (the kernel is
2.6.12-1.1387_FC4).
The command lspci is not showing the printer, but it did show on
FC3 and the printer was working on FC3.
Any ideias, please?
TIA,
Vinicius.
Go to this site.
http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/
There are details for installation. I have hplip running on FC4
like a charm. Puts an icon in the accessories menu. Click on that
and you have full control.
Jerry
Thanks.
Is your SELinux active ("enforcing" and "targeted")?
I have used hplip since 0.8X to 0.9.2 without problem on FC3.
I have compiled and installed it (version 0.9.3) on FC4, but there
are several "avc denied" due to SELinux.
Unfortunately, I think it's a hardware or configuration issue. I
don't know if it is due kudzu or the kernel, or other component.
As I said, the command *lspci* is not showing the printer,
independent of hplip installation or not.
Vinicius.
I do have SELinux enabled and have a few "avc denied" messages but all
is working. I have a PSC 2175 plugged into USB port. It shows up
fine with lsusb. I do not know the kind of interface for PSC 1315. I
would try the hplip mailing list and see if they have any ideas.
Jerry
Thanks again.
I'm participating of the HPLIP forums but without success to solve the
problem there.
I have reinstalled the FC4 from the zero and the problem continues.
Have you installed the FC4 from the zero or upgraded from another
version of Fedora, please?
My PSC 1315 uses USB to communicate with the computer.
What's the outputs of the commands lsusb and lspci, please?
TIA,
Vinicius.
Before the tip:
"
# lsusb

Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

"
After the tip from Kam Leo:
"
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
*Bus 004 Device 002: ID 03f0:3f11 Hewlett-Packard PSC-1315*
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
"
Now I can install the HPLIP driver.
Thanks,
Vinicius.
