created a /boot/grub/images and put the .xpm.gz in there. I made the .xpm.gz 644 permission. I then edited /boot/grub/menu.1st (which also edited the main grub.conf) to use that splash image in /boot/grub/images. Did I miss something?
What is the exact line in grub.conf?
