It should contain at least two repositories: base and updates-released. Your yum.conf contains only one repo, called "French-Fedora-Mirror". Here's what my /etc/yum.conf looks like: [main] cachedir=/var/cache/yum debuglevel=2 logfile=/var/log/yum.log pkgpolicy=newest distroverpkg=redhat-release tolerant=1 exactarch=1 retries=20 obsoletes=1 gpgcheck=1 Here's /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora.repo: [base] name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Base mirrorlist=http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors/fedora-core-$releasever enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 Here's /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo: [updates-released] name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Released Updates mirrorlist=http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors/updates-released-fc $releasever enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 You can also put all of that in /etc/yum.conf. This is on Fedora Core 4, but I think it should also work under FC 3. HTH, Levin
