See: http://ftp.cvut.cz/vmware/ Download the latest version of the vmware-any-any-update* series file (I downloaded vmware-any-any-update91.tar.gz). Then unpack and execute the runme.pl file. This will patch VMware to work correctly on FC4. I'm running FC4 with VMware Workstation 5.0.0 (build-13124) using kernel 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 and all is working just fine after applying the patch.
