help adding a sata drive to the system

I am new to Fedora Core, and have a Fedora Core 2 system running on one
sata drive. I added one additional sata drive but dmesg below says,
'ata2: SATA port has no device'.

Is there a Fedora Core utility program or something?

The current sata drive appears as /dev/sda. It looks like partitions on
sda appear in a file called /etc/blkid.tab. What program created that?

Thank you.
