I am new to Fedora Core, and have a Fedora Core 2 system running on one sata drive. I added one additional sata drive but dmesg below says, 'ata2: SATA port has no device'. Is there a Fedora Core utility program or something? The current sata drive appears as /dev/sda. It looks like partitions on sda appear in a file called /etc/blkid.tab. What program created that? Thank you. --------------------- dmesg secion shows: ---------------------- SCSI subsystem initialized libata version 1.02 loaded. ata_piix version 1.02 PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:1f.2 to 64 ata1: SATA max UDMA/133 cmd 0xE900 ctl 0xEA02 bmdma 0xED00 irq 193 ata2: SATA max UDMA/133 cmd 0xEB00 ctl 0xEC02 bmdma 0xED08 irq 193 ata1: dev 0 cfg 49:2f00 82:74eb 83:7fea 84:4023 85:74e8 86:3c02 87:4023 88:203f ata1: dev 0 ATA, max UDMA/100, 160836480 sectors (lba48) ata1: dev 0 configured for UDMA/100 scsi0 : ata_piix ata2: SATA port has no device. ata2: thread exiting scsi1 : ata_piix Using cfq io scheduler Vendor: ATA Model: HDS722580VLSA80 Rev: 1.02 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 05 SCSI device sda: 160836480 512-byte hdwr sectors (82348 MB) SCSI device sda: drive cache: write through sda: sda1 sda2 sda3 Attached scsi disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
