Sorry to hear this. It's the difference between "support" meaning "works on this platform" and "we'll help you with that," I guess. You could lie and pretend you're on RH :-). They might not know the difference. Someone earlier recommended using tar or some other archiving mechanism to backup to a samba share that is then backed up by Veritas. That works, although it makes restores a little harder. It may be the path of least resistance for you, however, and it can be very safe. We do it in some cases because it's easier to scp the tar file than to get Veritas to work through a firewall.
