I was using dydns.org instead of dyndns.org



Not sure of your exact purpose, but you may also want to check into the update client: ddclient


It runs as a daemon and has the ability to update dyndns/zoneedit and other dynamic Dns providers.

yum info ddclient

Release: 4
Size   : 138 k
Repo   : installed
Summary: A client to update dynamic DNS host entries.

Description:
ddclient is a Perl client used to update dynamic DNS entries for accounts on many dynamic DNS services.
