FC3 hangs (?) at Suspend

Hi all, 

I have FC3 on an Avertec 5100 laptop. I used Control Center in KDE3.4 to set 
up power management. I have Button Actions set to suspend when I close the 
lid. When I open the lid again, the harddrive light blinks a few times, but 
the display never comes back on. I haven't tried to configure any of this 
through command line. 

What can I do to make this functional?
