That is a handy tutorial. Just forget the "stupid" advise to harden
Sendmail against hackers by modifying the greeting banner. Only fools
expect they could make their system more safe by hiding version numbers.
Speaking about Sendmail the howto guy misses that he would have to patch
the Sendmail sources as well to hide the version from HELP command. And
more general, hackers don't care for version numbers ... they run their
exploits against victim hosts and see where it hits.

Has been said already: sendmail-cf is needed to be able to create a new
sendmail.cf from a modified sendmail.mc.
