I installed 2.6.11-1.7_FC3.x86_64 on a dual Opteron 248 (4GB) yesterday (vanilla FC3 kit + up2date) with (so far) no problems. This is on a Tyan K8S Pro S2882 motherboard, booting from a SCSI disk. Similar cpuinfo/meminfo/dmesg to yours, which I'll send if you like. Cheers, Terry. >2.6.11-1.7_FC3.x86_64 hangs somewhere during boot, after dumping CPU >infos, before. >platform infos are attached, as long as a 'fine' dmesg of 2.6.10-1.770 > >PS: which is the correct list for testing kernels ?? > >regards > >processor : 0 >vendor_id : AuthenticAMD >cpu family : 15 >model : 5 >model name : AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 244 >stepping : 10 >cpu MHz : 1792.530 >cache size : 1024 KB >fpu : yes >fpu_exception : yes >cpuid level : 1 >wp : yes >flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 pni syscall nx mmxext lm 3dnowext 3dnow >bogomips : 3522.56 >TLB size : 1088 4K pages >clflush size : 64 >cache_alignment : 64 >address sizes : 40 bits physical, 48 bits virtual >power management: ts fid vid ttp > >processor : 1 >vendor_id : AuthenticAMD >cpu family : 15 >model : 5 >model name : AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 244 >stepping : 10 >cpu MHz : 1792.530 >cache size : 1024 KB >fpu : yes >fpu_exception : yes >cpuid level : 1 >wp : yes >flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 pni syscall nx mmxext lm 3dnowext 3dnow >bogomips : 3579.90 >TLB size : 1088 4K pages >clflush size : 64 >cache_alignment : 64 >address sizes : 40 bits physical, 48 bits virtual >power management: ts fid vid ttp > >MemTotal: 2056668 kB >MemFree: 606164 kB >Buffers: 166492 kB >Cached: 945716 kB >SwapCached: 0 kB >Active: 345700 kB >Inactive: 785104 kB >HighTotal: 0 kB >HighFree: 0 kB >LowTotal: 2056668 kB >LowFree: 606164 kB >SwapTotal: 4096564 kB >SwapFree: 4096564 kB >Dirty: 20 kB >Writeback: 0 kB >Mapped: 27240 kB >Slab: 303136 kB >CommitLimit: 5124896 kB >Committed_AS: 69324 kB >PageTables: 2224 kB >VmallocTotal: 536870911 kB >VmallocUsed: 2800 kB >VmallocChunk: 536867947 kB >HugePages_Total: 0 >HugePages_Free: 0 >Hugepagesize: 2048 kB >PCI devices found: > Bus 0, device 6, function 0: > Class 0604: PCI device 1022:7460 (rev 7). > Master Capable.
