I think so too Craig. Let us not start another war, one about the "right" tool to manage updates and package installations. Some like yum or even up2date with reasons, others prefer apt with reasons and a third party already experiments with smartpm. > There has been a problem reported with the latest yum and using it with > a proxy - if that is your issue, see... > > <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=150937> I don't think above error has to do with a proxy usage. To me the backtrace looks as if an error occured during md5 checksum checking. Probably either metadata or a downloaded package got corrupted. > if that is not the problem, try executing 'yum clean' first I suggested that too (yum clean all) to erase corrupted files. > Craig Alexander -- Alexander Dalloz | Enger, Germany | GPG http://pgp.mit.edu 0xB366A773 legal statement: http://www.uni-x.org/legal.html Fedora Core 2 GNU/Linux on Athlon with kernel 2.6.10-1.771_FC2smp Serendipity 17:09:14 up 4 days, 14:35, load average: 0.59, 0.62, 0.55
