Unfortunately, yum on this machine seems to be going into a spiral of despair. I ran "yum upgrade" excluding all the packages which caused dependency problems. That ran OK, but now when I run "yum update", or in fact any yum command, I get the error ======================================== [tim@william ~]$ sudo yum check-update Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/yum", line 6, in ? import yummain File "/usr/share/yum-cli/yummain.py", line 25, in ? import cli File "/usr/share/yum-cli/cli.py", line 39, in ? from yum import pgpmsg ImportError: cannot import name pgpmsg [tim@william ~]$ exit ======================================== My update didn't update yum or python (I believe) - I'm still running yum-2.2.0-0.fc3 and python-2.4-2 , though I notice I now have rpm-python-4.3.2-23 which I don't recall seeing before. Any suggestions or advice gratefully received. -- Timothy Murphy e-mail (<80k only): tim /at/ birdsnest.maths.tcd.ie tel: +353-86-2336090, +353-1-2842366 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland
