Hi, here is a silly question from a noob....

Can I upgrade KDE 3.3 to 3.4 using YUM (FC3)? If so, what might be the
command?

Thanks a lot

Yes Paul, you can. I used 'yum update' but I was also using
kde-redhat-testing as part of my yum.conf. Thats how I upgraded kde to 3.4.

Sharon.

You can also point yum to KDE's own Repo for the 3.4 RPMs at (using a mirror) http://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/Mirrors/ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.4/RedHat/Fedora3/i386

There should be a closer mirror to you, just look on the KDE 3.4 info-page on www.kde.org.

The yum-update went flawlessly and KDE 3.4 worked very well since then.

Alexander

Will this cause any issues when/if the Fedora guys roll out KDE to the redhat repos?

I don't know if they will. I Thought KDE 3.4 is supposed to be in Fedora 4 and won't appear in FC3.
