Thanks! - I tried this once before - and tried it once again -> no result :(

There seems to be an initialization file for dhclient - do you 
know what kind of information I would have to supply?

Are there other sources / Informations dhclient needs in order to
do its job?

I bought "LINUX Network Administrator's guide" from O'Reilly
and spend a day reading - but I seem to be unable to find 
any solution myself. ...Already my 3-days-weekend I wanted to spend
somewhere in the mountains went by starring at the screen :(

How about switching to some other Linux edition, Suse, Mandrake, Debian, ...
Do you think this could be a solution ?

Sorry for complaining :(
But sometimes I really don't like computers!
