Cannot activate wireless Intel PRO 2100 after
installing ipw2100-1.0.0-27.1.rhfc3.at.i386.rpm,
ipw2100-kmdl-2.6.10-1.770_14.rhfc3.at-1.0.0-27.1.rhfc3.at.i686.rpm,
and ipw2100-firmware-1.3-5.at.noarch.rpm then
following NetworkManager directions at
http://fedoranews.org/contributors/jim_lawrence/network_manager/
lsmod:
ipw2100 76025 0
ieee80211 19525 1 ipw2100
ieee80211_crypt 6725 2
ieee80211_crypt_wep,ieee80211
Well I can activate the wireless device through
NetworkManager. But I'm still having problems
getting
onto a WEP-enabled network.
Ok got onto a WEP network by changing the wireless
router to use a passphrase. For some reason
NetworkManager would not let me use a 26 character
string for 'ASCII key'
Did you specify 256-bit encryption (needed for a 26-character ASCII
key)?
