The issue was raised in bugzilla: http://bugzilla.livna.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385 See comments #10 and #12. There was no reply from the maintainer and the bug is now marked as closed. I think it would be useful to open a separate bug report on this issue (especially as you have found that that the i586 package doesn't work). I've already searched bugzilla and this issue isn't reported anywhere else except the closed report mentioned above.
