Why would you want to shut down a Linux computer?
To save power of course - EcoLinux ;-)
Dan
But if I shut mine down I cannot run BOINC. ;)
Or be available when I want it, or when my kids want it or when my wife wants it, or ....
OT? Yesterday and today were my first experience with Win XP in over 2 years. Installing some commercial software. After two days I think I have it almost installed. All but the drivers and the patches. Of course I have to learn how to use the software to install the patches. Oh yea, there are some more applications to install after the patches.
Changing 12 CD's, 8 reboots, two days and there is still more to do.
Give me Yum, Anaconda and Linux any day. Needless to say, I will be writing the software manufacturer about this.
I have installed Open Office and Firefox which each required a reboot.
And of course the required anti-virus software. Still have to find some adware software.
Now I remember why I HATE WINDOWS. Sorry for shouting but it makes me mad. Now to take a Valium. :)
