I'm looking for anyone's experience with using a USB-connected tape drive
on Fedora.  Specifically, I'm interested in a Sony AITe90-UL 35GB/91GB
USB2 drive.

The official word from Sony tech support is that it is not supported; I
have found nothing useful on Google or the Fedora and redhat mailing
lists.  There have been a few questions there but no solid answers.

Has anyone tried this with any success?  Thanks.  Erik
