Well, here's how it started.  I upgraded to FC3, restarted the server.
Tomcat failed to start.  logs/tomcat.out looked like this:

I found that tomcat was removed in FC3, so I wondered why.  I wanted to
use the latest version of Tomcat anyway, so I downloaded it, downloaded
JDK and JRE, installed everything, set CATALINA_HOME, JAVA_HOME,
JRE_HOME, ran bin/startup.sh and voila!  I'm back up and running.
