I just need to know how to turn this thing off! Well, Linux is in the tradition of Unix; think Mainframes. The overall idea is to keep it on, just logging in/out at will. It not only avoids the long boot delay that PCs have, but allows daemons to keep working for email, web, what-have-ya. There has been (too) much debate as to whether this is a good idea, but the situation suits me here. When you go to logoff, there's a choice of logoff/shutdown/restart. And, when you're not in graphics mode, the ol' three finger salute will still reboot the machine. (Or, whatever command you tell it to do.) :) Enjoy! -- Those who entrust life and limb to Microsoft deserve neither. -Me, 2005 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Brian FahrlÃnder Christian, Conservative, and Technomad Evansville, IN http://www.fahrlander.net ICQ: 5119262 AIM: WheelDweller ------------------------------------------------------------------------
