Any comments ? Or am I missing something ?
Sounds like false expectations. I don't recall anyone claiming that Fedora Core boots quickly. On the contrary, actually. There's been talk about how to speed it up in upcoming releases.

Well my linux laptop boots slower than my windows machine ( about same hardware) But who cares?? At least when you boot a linux machine up, you can leave it up for more than a day......... -- Don Dupy
My experience is a bit different. My P-III 866MHz 512MB RAM FC3 computer boots up a hell of a lot faster than my P-IV 3MHz 512MB RAM Windows XP laptop. At work, the situation is even worse; I simply leave my Win2K work computer on all the time because I simply don't want to wait each morning for the damn thing to start up. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (Cygwin) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org

My laptop is a Mobile 2.4Ghz with 1Gb Ram. My windows2k box @ work is a 1.1 athlon with 512Mb Ram. The laptop boots a little slower than the 2k box.Again, for me, this isn't really a huge issue. I just power on, take my coat off, go get my morning cup and I am ready when I return to my desk.
I guess some people dwell on little things like this a bit much. Anyway you look at it, I am enjoying the FC3 OS and I support it 200%
