I'm running FC-2 and can not record a voice message via the microphone.
The equipment works, makes voice recordings, if I boot Win98, but not on FC-2 using Audacity or Gnome Sound-Recorder, in fact Gnome Sound-Recorder crashes as soon as I click on the "record" button? Audacity simply does not respond to the microphone. Sound works normally otherwise via xmms, etc.
I have tried changing the "alsamixer" settings without success.
EnsonicHwbrowser shoes the following for the sound card:
ES1371 [AudioPCI-97]
Ensonic
Driver: snd-ens1371
Is there some common problem of which I am not aware? Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
