This is an odd problem.

Using FC3 2.6.10-1.760_FC3 with Cisco VPN Client 4.0.4 on a Toshiba
Tecra M2 Laptop which has the 2200BG wireless chip set. It also has a
Intel 82540EP Gigabit Ethernet Controller for wired connections.

I can establish a VPN connection just fine using the wireless
connection, everything works as expected.

However, when I use a wired connection the VPN appears to be established
just fine. But when I try to access anything the name resolution fails.
I have checked and compared the /etc/resolv.conf files as well as the
netstat -rn outputs for both wired and wireless connections. Everything
appears to be the same.

Running ethereal I can see the DNS queries go out and what appears to be
encrypted replies coming back (I suspect I see the outgoing queries
un-encrypted because ethereal gets the packet prior to the VPN).

Google results have not returned anything that looks the same as this
problem.

If this was a problem with the VPN client I would expect it not to work
with either connection not just with wireless.

Did you check iptables and make sure that it's not blocking eth0 stuff (the wireless is probably wlan0 and may be wide open). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - Rick Stevens, Senior Systems Engineer rstevens@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - - VitalStream, Inc. http://www.vitalstream.com - - - - LOOK OUT!!!
