Hi, Any time I do a ls /proc/net/stat on either of two Fedora Core 3 boxes ( one Intel, one AMD ) the process hangs. Actually the first time the command is run it will core dump. Anytime after that the process hangs and it can't be killed. Likewise, a locate -u will first core dump then the second time hang. Both machines are pretty much default new installations. On one, I did a yum update and it installed lots of things but the problem continues. I just recently checked a server setup by someone else and it has exactly the same problem but, at the same time, he has another server that does not. It starts right out of the box with a fresh install and it never goes away. I have swapped memory to no avail. The core dump does generate a message and it is included below. Any help would be appreciated.
