"last" used in the context above is equivalent to "immediately preceeding".<> FC3 is the current version. FC4 is due in April (IIRC). FC2 was the last release - therefore a previous distro!
Thus, Paul was saying that FC2 was the version, or release, of Fedora that preceeded FC3.
