fedora fc2 problem with display color depth and resolution

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi

Im using a Dell UltraScan P991 monitor and Fedora Core 2 on a
Dell machine with a Pentium 4 processor. I cant get both
1024x768 resolution and color depth more than 8 together.

I can get a color depth of 16, but the highest resolution i get
is 640x480. If I want a higher resolution, anything above and
including 800x600, I have to lower the color depth to 8. I know
the monitor supports atleast 1024x768, because thats what i had
the resolution at when I had Windows XP on the machine.

Also, how can i determine if i have the right driver installed
for this monitor?

I have included the relevant portions of my xorg.conf and
Xorg.0.log files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Shailan
