[FC3] Postscript viewers & PDF printing problem

Hi everyone,

I use KDE on FC3 and I have run into the problem of not being able to print to PDF using the preconfigured pseudo printer device. Furthermore, when I try printing to postscript, none of the viewers (gv, ggv, kghostscript) show anything but blank pages.

However, if I take the postscript file over to one of my OS X boxes, the Preview app opens them right up and displays them correctly. In other words, the postscript files appear to be fine, but the viewers just aren't displaying them correctly.

My suspicion is that there is something afoul with the way my systems are dealing with postscript, but I don't really know where to go from here. What seems to be directly related is the fact that I have also tried sending the *.ps files through ps2pdf on the commandline with no result other than 321B empty *.pdf files that won't open.

As far as I know, I have all the necessary packages installed (i.e., my systems have default installations of KDE), but this problem is present on all three of my FC3 workstations. I really need to be able to output PDFs, so any insight would be very appreciated.

I searched the archives and bugzilla, and I couldn't find anything on this, so either I have a unique problem, a misconfiguration, or a poor choice in search terms. If anyone knows how to point me in the right direction, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks in advance!

Chris Stark
