Joel's given you good advice. It should work, but there's always the chance that something might go seriously wrong on any OS upgrade. Apache these days is covered by SELinux: I'd say that there's a very good chance that you'll need to do some reading and relabelling to get that working. In your situation, at least to begin with, I'd strongly recommend turning SELinux OFF just for httpd: see http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/selinux-faq-fc3/index.html#using-s-c-securitylevel Squid is simpler, and might Just Work. But that's also covered by SELinux. Apart from that, in my experience, text mode user space is very similar: there's just the known version upgrades. How much customisation / configuration have you done on any of the daemons you mention? I'd always advise that you don't pressurise yourself: tell everyone that downtime might be much longer.
