Hello,
Would somebody please offer some guidance on converting from RH9 (2.4.20-6smp/ext3) to fedora?
Can this be accomplished with little or no downtime (< 4 hrs)?
rh9 to fc1 was mostly painless, rh9 to fc2 broke a few things for me, fc1 to fc3 worked well for most of the machines we had in that situation. Mostly problems I had related to customization I had done, and 3rd party binary software. If your environment is pretty vanilla, once you backed up, I'd probably just consider rebooting on the first fc install disk and doing an upgrade, be prepared for a bit of a learning curve if you go from 9 to fc3,
I'm running: apache, qmail, squid/squidguard, sshd, ....
What steps should I take?
Here's where I'm at.
1. Complete system backup 2. Created fedora install disks 3. ...?
Thanks,
Bill
