1. download jre-1_5_0_01-linux-i586-rpm.bin from Sun (go to
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and select the "Linux RPM
(self-extracting file)")
2. run it to extract jre-1_5_0_01-linux-i586.rpm
3. rpm -ivh jre-1_5_0_01-linux-i586.rpm
4. cd /usr/lib/firefox-1.0/plugins
5. ln -s /usr/java/jre1.5.0_01/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so .
6. restart Firefox
ok i'll try this again, it could be that i chose the wrong file, they
have 2 .bin files i must have chose the *Linux (self-extracting file)*
(filesize: 15.8 MB)
instead of the *Linux RPM (self-extracting file)*
(filesize: 15.4 MB)
