Intel i810 video card drivers are buggy. (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/beta/show_bug.cgi?id=132267) Install in text mode, then update everything (or at least xorg-x11*) before trying to fix the display configuration.

Seems like you've hit the nail on the head with the model number (if my memory serves me right). The bug also seems to address the problem.
