What are your system logs saying ?

What is the exact command you are doing to do the mount ?


When you plug a USB device in, it will generate several connect
messages.  Looking at them might help you decipher what is going on.

Also, you might consider updating to FC3 as I suspect its support of USB
devices is better than that in FC3.
