Sound issue, xmms

Hi there,

Could any one explain this interesting problem?

I have done a google for this nd am empty handed.

I open XMMS and set alsa as the default sound?
it plays one mp3 then hangs.
Even if I let the mp3 finish so that the next in the playlist starts
automatically.

My version 1.2.10 from ayo.freshrpms.net (xmms-1.2.10-9.1.1.fc3.fr)

Even if I start a GUI session as root it does the same.

the sound card is this:
[root@chadlap ~]# lspci | grep -i audio
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB/DBL/DBM
(ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03)

and lsmod:
[root@chadlap ~]# lsmod

The system sounds and audio CDs play perfectly and work flawlessly.
The problem seems to only occur when I try play an mp3 in xmms.

When I check the ps table there is an xmms -e, when I kill that it is
fixed and I can play one song again.

Here is another strange issue around this problem. If I switch xmms to
arts then it plays but there is not sound!

Could some please help out here!

I am running the following config:

Linux chadlap.teq.pinteq 2.6.10-1.737_FC3 #1 Mon Jan 10 13:50:10 EST
2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Thanks
chad
