This same problem has been noticed on the R3000 list that I mentioned
in my other email.  To fix this, edit /etc/modprobe.conf and remove
any trailing spaces from the "options nvidia ..." line.  The nvidia
driver seems to be choking on the extra whitespace.  The extra
whitespace is added by the system-config-networks tool.  A bug has
been opened on this issue with system-config-networks:
