This is a FAQ.
If the discs are burned DAO with padding (possibly just DAO) using cdrecord - they will pass the media test. Otherwise they will probably fail - because of a bug in the ide-cd driver, not because they are bad.
Something about the drive trying to read beyond the end of the data or something.
Anyway - your disks likely are fine - try installing. If they fail, see if you can get someone with linux to burn them using cdrecord from the cli with the -dao and -pad options.
