If yum is so much better that the experts just go to it, why is up2date the program on the start bar? Why isn't yum given the nice icon on the start bar by default?
Tim,
I would guess that up2date is on the start bar instead of a graphical yum for 2 basic reasons. 1) up2date has been developed and used by Redhat historically and 2) yum doesn't have a mature enough gui yet. Perhaps this will change over time. FC4 is right around the corner.
Thanks,
Dale
