HELP resolv.conf is erased

i rebooted my notebook this morning, allowed networkmanager to search
and it just conitues to search.  so, i looked at etc/resovl.conf
and it is empty!!   So i stopped NM & named   again i looked at /etc/resolv.conf
once again Empty!   
So i manually entered the following  


  
nameserver 127.0.0.1

what can i doo to solve this nightmare problem with NM named, bind,
snd losing the ability to browse after a hour of connection?
