Paul Howarth <paul@xxxxxxxxxxxx> for his prompt answer. He indicated to burn the CD as an *IMAGE* For a boot CD, here is what I did: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Using "NERO5" (Ahead Software AG, Version 5.5.10.17 MPC). Running XP SP2. o- A wizard starts. oo- CD/Compile a new CD/Other CD formats/Create a CD from an image File/Finish 2) or form nero's "File" menu option. Select "Burn image. These instructions are described in the link that Paul suggested: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/e-smith/docs/howto/CD_burning_howto.php3#AEN90 For a bootable DVD I did the following: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using "Sonic Record Now!" version 7.21. Running on XP SP2. 1) Start/Run: RecordNow.exe o- Click on "Burn Image"... Thanks also to Christian Langer and David Hoffman for their quick response. -- Alan Angulo Systems Administrator East Stroudsburg University e-mail: alan@xxxxxxx Tel: (570) 422-3783 On Mon, 24 Jan 2005, Paul Howarth wrote: > Alan :) wrote: > > Hello everybody, > > I'm new to the list and I would like somebody to point me to the right direction. > > Is there a FAQ where I can get information about creating a boot CD or DVD? > > > > The problem: > > ------------ > > 1) I downloaded all the *.iso CD images. > > 2) How do I go about creating a boot CD to start the installation process? > > I found instructions to create a boot CD using linux tools but I don't have linux installed to use these utilities and so here is my chicken/egg dilema. > > You might get some specific help if you stated which CD-writing tools > you *do* have access to. > > Instructions for a variety of tools can be found at: > http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/e-smith/docs/howto/CD_burning_howto.php3 > > The key thing to remember is to burn the ISO images as "images" rather > than just writing the files to CDs. > > Paul. > > -- > fedora-list mailing list > fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx > To unsubscribe: http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list >
