Since you are already starting with an ISO file, what happens if you try:
cdrecord -v --eject dev=ATA:1,0,0 heidelberg-i386-DVD/FC3-i386-DVD.iso

Of course you would have to set your "dev=" argument dependent on the
results of running "cdrecord -scanbus".
