Thanks a lot for your replies, Dennis. Yum list | grep alsa returned this: ________________ alsa-lib.i386 1.0.6-5 installed alsa-utils.i386 1.0.6-3 installed alsa-lib-debuginfo.i386 1.0.6-5 updates-released alsa-lib-devel.i386 ________________ Is alsa-lib-1.0.6-7.FC3.i386.rpm not considered an update to alsa-lib.i386 1.0.6-5? Maybe a simpler case: yum says _________________ gpdf.i386 2.8.2-1.2 installed _________________ but when I do a yum check-update using the same repo above, yum doesn't return an available gpdf rpm - though Firefox, pointed to http://limestone.uoregon.edu/ftp/fedora/updates/3/i386/, shows that gpdf-2.8.2-2.2.i386.rpm is available. I'm really confused. Thanks a lot for helping. Trish -- This is an email sent via the webforum on http://fcp.homelinux.org
