RE: Trouble booting fresh Core 3 install

Well, I haven't updated the BIOS and am unfamiliar with how to do so. Regarding RH8, I tried the upgrade to no avail so I just reformatted the disc to install FC3. That is where I am today.

On the Hardware front, I'll take a look. The machine has a slave drive Maxtor HD and a Yamaha CD-RW internal attached.

Have you tried updating the PC bios to the latest version.
Also Have you tried to do a clean install of FC3 and not upgrading RH8
(be careful not to delete your work). Maybe just chuck in a spare hard
disk just to see if the upgrade path is the issue.
Try removing any hardware that is not needed for the initial install
and add them later.
Hope this helps
